Colorado Renaissance Festival postpones opening due to COVID-19 concerns

Larkspur, Colo. (KRDO) — The Colorado Renaissance Festival announced in a Facebook post it will be postponing the 44th anniversary festival, “due to the current health concerns and taking into consideration the safety of our patrons and Renaissance community.”

The opening day for this year’s festival will be Saturday August 1st, 2020.  It will run for 8 weekends with a closing day of Sunday, September 20th. 

It was originally scheduled to go from June 13th through August 2nd.

The festival will be open 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each weekend. You can find more information on the Colorado Renaissance Festival website.

Last year, organizers said opening day brought in a record breaking number of visitors. CDOT even used the shoulder along I-25 southbound as a lane to help with the increased traffic in the Larkspur area.
