In-N-Out Burger opens newest Colorado location Friday in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - In-N-Out Burger is celebrating the grand opening of its newest Colorado restaurant Friday in Colorado Springs but many drivers are wondering about the effect on traffic.

The California-based burger chain will open the new restaurant, located at 495 Garden of the Gods Road, at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning; it's just west of the Interstate 25 interchange and on the south side of Garden of the Gods Road.

As of 7 a.m. Friday, only one customer had shown up to be first in line; Tim Piper said that he was looking forward to the opening because the store is more conveniently located that the existing two others in town.

"It's going to be nice not having to drive to the north side of town," he said. "I live closer to this one. But I'm curious about how the traffic will be here. I'm assuming that they have worked out."

City officials cite two reasons why they expect a smaller crowd this time: They believe that the novelty of In-N-Out has worn off; and they required the chain to increase the capacity of its drive thru and parking lot.

This new location will be the third In-N-Out restaurant in Colorado Springs and the 12th location in Colorado overall; a store along Interquest Parkway opened in November 2020, followed by a second store a year later near the intersection of Powers Boulevard and Constitution Avenue.

All In-N-Out Burger locations are open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and until 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
