Baggage thieves caught on camera at Springs airport
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Suspected thieves caught on camera with someone else's luggage in-hand at the Colorado Springs airport.
Colorado Springs police are not releasing the video but Todd Brubaker, one of the victims, managed to take photos of the video.
He says the video shows two women strolling through the airport with two suitcases. He says they blend into the crowd, waiting for luggage at the baggage claim. He says police believe there is another suspect involved and at least two other victims besides Brubaker.
Brubaker was returning home to Colorado Springs Sunday after vacation. He says he had a connecting flight in Denver which was delayed about 4 hours.
Knowing Colorado Springs is about an hour away, he and his family of four chose to drive back home.
He says United Airlines sent their suitcases on the delayed flight to Colorado Springs and he missed the suspected thieves by less than a half-hour.
Brubaker says the thieves didn't look inside the baggage and just randomly took them off the carousel.
The case is now being investigated by Colorado Springs police.
