UPDATE: Homicide investigation underway after suspicious death at a Colorado Springs apartment

UPDATE (Sunday, Mar. 24): Colorado Springs detectives with the homicide unit are investigating after a female body was found in a Colorado Springs apartment.

Just after 7 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 23, Colorado Springs Police were called to the Pinewood Apartments on East Dale Street.

Officers say they found the women deceased in a apartment, but have not said how she died or identified her by name.

Details remain limited, however police say there were no reports of shots fired at the time of the call.

CSPD says due to the circumstances of the death, their homicide unit has taken over.

This is an on-going homicide investigation.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A suspicious death investigation is underway at the Pinewood Apartments in Colorado Springs.

Details are limited at the this hour. Colorado Springs Police officers tell KRDO13 on scene they were dispatched to the apartment complex near Platte Ave. to reports of a dead woman inside an apartment.

CSPD's homicide unit has assumed control of the investigation. No word on yet if this is an active homicide investigation.
