The kickoff to a monsoonal stretch

Today: Much more mild temperatures are in store for the end of the workweek going into the weekend. Monsoonal moisture comes into play after 1 pm. Thunderstorms are passing over the Aspen Acres burn scar area primarily at 2 pm but more are lingering until 8 pm. There is a flood watch in place for Pueblo County and the Aspen Acres burn scar from 12 pm until 9 pm. Colorado Springs will get showers mainly after 3 pm and Springfield will likely see a thunderstorm right around 3 pm.

The best time to get outside will continue to be the morning before the clouds roll in while temperatures are still in the 70s. Colorado Springs will only get up to the mid 80s today with Pueblo reaching 89 degrees.

Tomorrow: More thunderstorms are rolling through I-25 and the southeastern plains from 1 pm until 12 am. Temperatures remain mild. A Flash Flood Watch will likely be extended through Friday. The weekend also bring more severe weather for El Paso and Pueblo Counties.
