A PPIHC legend will try and set another record this year
This is Rhys Millen, everyone of the racers knows Rhys. He’s been doing this for years and the Pikes Peak record books are littered with his name. He’s been doing this for 24 years. This is his car. Yep. That’s a Bentley but not any ordinary Bentley, “This is their new Continental GT. This is a six-liter, twin turbo, W12 Cylinder. It’s probably one of the most powerful production/ luxury sedans in existence. We’re here to set a record for the fastest production car ever to climb Pike’s Peak,” says Millen.
Rhys knows a lot about setting records. He’s been the overall Hill Climb champ twice, once with an electric car and racing, it’s in his blood. He dad Rod Millen was a record setting racer for years, “To have my father have been a past champion and holding the record for some 13-14 years straight, before the road became paved, asterisks Dad, you’re still a champ. It’s just great to have the Millen heritage name in the event and to be out here and sharing these experiences with my team and having my family out for the week as well,” says Millen.
Effectively, the Millen family is immortalized on Pikes Peak, “You’ve had incredible names run up here. To kind of stack the Millen name in between that group. Or on top of it – however you want to look at it, it’s just fantastic to continue that legacy,” says. Millen.
