4/28/19 Weather Discussion
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with a few scattered showers possible. Winds remain breezy with gusts to 30mph. Rain showers potentially changing over to snow flurries by early tomorrow morning. Low temperatures in the mid 30’s.
Monday: A strong cold front will cross through Colorado in the early morning hours, bringing with it much cooler temperatures, rain, and even snow. Temperatures in the afternoon will barely reach into the 40’s for Colorado Springs, so those morning snow showers will change back to rain at some point during the day. A few rumbles of thunder are not of the question. Rain will once again change back to snow late Monday night. Snow accumulation will occur above 7,000 feet and in Northern Colorado. The Palmer Divide and mountainous areas are most likely to see snow covered roads. The National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories for the higher elevations. Snow accumulation will be minimal in Colorado Springs. I’d expect a light dusting in the grassy areas with wet roads.
Extended: Temperatures start to warm slightly into Tuesday afternoon into the high 50’s. Another round of afternoon showers is likely, which will be a recurring theme for Wednesday and Thursday. By late week sunshine returns and so do the 70’s.
