Holiday characters will stroll through Downtown Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Downtown Colorado Springs is offering extra holiday cheer the last full weekend before Christmas. Holiday characters will be strolling through the downtown area from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2024.

Guests are encouraged to interact with the characters, pose for photos, and enjoy the costumes. The Dickens Carolers will be providing a holiday soundtrack for the day from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Downtown Colorado Springs has more than 65 shops, boutiques, and galleries within one square mile, as well as plenty of places to enjoy food and drinks.

Saturday, December 16, 2023. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • In front of the Acacia Park playground from 11 to 11:15 a.m. followed by a character stroll with Santa, the Grinch, Elsa and Anna from “Frozen,” and Buddy the Elf. Characters will be interacting with shoppers and posing for photos.
  • Along sidewalks of North Tejon Street (between Boulder and Kiowa streets) and East Bijou Street (between Nevada and Cascade avenues) in Downtown Colorado Springs.
  • Need a warmup? From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the first 150 people who stop in Solar Roast Coffee on the corner of Tejon and Bijou streets (at 134 N. Tejon St.) and say “CHEERFUL TING STROLL” get one free medium hot beverage: hot cocoa, drip coffee, eggnog latte or tea! Sponsored by Ting Internet.
