Youth groups decorate gingerbread homes as part of contest to raise money for veteran housing

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Holiday fun crossed paths with holiday giving Friday night in Colorado Springs.

A number of church youth groups from around the region gathered at the Re-Store to decorate a village worth of gingerbread homes.

The whimsical creations will then be entered into a nationwide contest that is sponsored by Habitat for Humanity and raises proceeds for veteran housing across the nation.
