‘Extreme speed’ led to fatal crash on Academy and Constitution
Colorado Springs police say the driver who was killed in a crash Saturday night on Academy Blvd. was driving at an “extreme speed” before rolling his car multiple times.
The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. at Academy and Constitution Ave. Police found the driver, 33-year-old Roger Snyder of Colorado Springs, dead. One passenger was injured and taken to the hospital; the passenger’s current condition wasn’t released.
Police say Snyder was driving his Subaru sedan north on Academy when he lost control and drove off the right side of the road. The sedan rolled multiple times and hit a sign pole, coming to a dead stop.
Snyder was ejected from the vehicle, but his passenger wasn’t. Police said both of them were wearing their seat belts.
Police are still investigating the crash.
