Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Cooler With Storms – 6/24/18
Today: There may be some low cloud cover early this morning over the Palmer Divide as a cold front moves over the area. All areas will be breezy and significantly cooler today with scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly this afternoon and evening. Stronger cells could produce localized downpours, frequent lightning and gusty wind anywhere today, but along and east of I-25 some storms could become severe with large hail and damaging wind gusts the primary threats.
Tonight: Thunderstorms will continue to drift eastward this evening before ending, then partly cloudy. Expect low temperatures to fall into the 50s for the plains, mainly 40s over the mountains.
Extended: Starting Monday the air will dry out and start warming up again, and most of next week looks very warm and mostly dry. Chances for rain across the area look a bit better by the following week.
