Critical fire weather today – 6/1/18
TODAY: The hot and dry trend will continue today, as temps will be in the 90s across the area. Parts of the southeastern plains will reach 100! Winds will steadily increase throughout the day, with gusts ranging from 35 to 45 mph. This will allow for critical fire conditions. Most of the state is under a Red Flag Warning from 10 AM to 9 PM.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear, with temps in the upper 40s to low 50s, while parts of the southeastern plains will be in the mid to upper 50s.
EXTENDED: We will get a relief from the heat this weekend, with temps across the area dropping 5 to 10 degrees. Our next best chance for rain will be on Sunday, where most of the area has the possibility of experiencing showers and storms. Temps will be rising again next week, where we will be in the upper 80s to low 90s.
