Hot & Windy Weekend 5-25-18
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild overnight with low temperatures dropping to the 40s and 50s.
TOMORROW: Near record high temps arrive tomorrow as temps climb to the 80s and 90s across much of the area. Our coolest spots stay in the 70s while parts of the plains flirt with 100 degree temps during the afternoon. Skies remain mostly sunny but an isolated shower or storm will remain possible again. Winds also become breezy with gusts to the 30s. This brings increasing fire danger with Red Flag Warnings in place along and west of the I-25 corridor during the day.
EXTENDED: Fire danger continues Sunday and likely again Monday. Winds are expected to gust into the 30s and 40s with some isolated gusts above 50 mph. Temps on Sunday will be similar, but perhaps a couple degrees cooler. 80s and 90s are common once more Sunday but temps cool off more by Memorial Day. Highs drop to the 70s and 80s with a few places in the 90s on the Eastern Plains. Isolated storm chances increase some near the Kansas border Sunday and Monday. Chances for a few storms exist Tuesday and Wednesday before another warm and dry trend to end next week.
