7:01 p.m. – Strong storms have been pushing through Southern Colorado over the last two hours. Multiple severe thunderstorms were issued for the Southeastern Plains for hail up to 1″ in diameter and wind gusts between 50 and 60 mph. We even saw a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings for Downtown Colorado Springs. Some areas in the Pikes Peak Region saw hail heavy enough to coat the ground and create a winter-like scene. The threat for severe weather will be less over the next couple of hours but some will still have the potential to become strong. Storm activity will wind down and move east through midnight.
