Mother’s Day forecast – 05/13/18
Today: Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful women who make our world go ’round! If you’re celebrating Mom outside, the best time to do so will be the early afternoon. This morning, many areas are dealing with patches of low clouds and fog. This is expected to clear by mid-morning, but we’ll have to watch this carefully. Partly sunny skies are on tap for the area later this afternoon! Highs will reach the 70s and 80s. For the southern end of the I-25 corridor, we sadly have continued fire danger; Red Flag Warnings run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Elsewhere, it will be a bit breezy yet mild. A few storms are possible along the Palmer Divide later this evening as a cold front blasts through the state.
Tonight: Low clouds and even some drizzle could redevelop overnight into early Monday. This could slow down the morning commute. Stick with us for the latest information! Lows drop to the 40s and 50s. Partly cloudy skies are expected for the mountain communities.
Extended: It will be noticeably cooler the next couple of days. Again Tuesday morning, we could be battling some low clouds. Monday and Tuesday, we have chances for scattered storms and perhaps some pockets of heavy rain, small hail and gusty winds. Storms become slightly more isolated starting Wednesday and continuing through Friday. Storms ramp up again on Saturday. Temperatures rebound to the 70s and 80s by Thursday before dropping again to the 60s and 70s Saturday.
