Another day of high fire danger – 1/31/18

TODAY: Wednesday brings yet another day of high fire danger! Red flag warnings are in place through Pueblo, Canon City, Walsenburg and Trinidad. This is due to incredibly low relative humidity values and gusty winds to 35 mph. A wind alert level 1 is in place once again. These gusty conditions could spread fire quickly, so please avoid outdoor burning today and report any smoke. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: We will be partly to mostly cloudy through the overnight and our lows cool to the teens and 20s.

EXTENDED: Winter returns to the area tomorrow as a front passes through the region. Moisture does not look that impressive, but freezing fog, freezing drizzle and areas of flurry activity are likely (especially in the morning). This is due to some upslope flow on the eastern side of the mountains. Cloud cover will be extensive and highs will only warm into the 30s and 40s. Another storm system is possible this weekend which could bring the area more chances for light snow or a rain snow mix. Stay tuned!
