Golfers help driver who crashed SUV into water-filled ditch near Pueblo City Park
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- When a driver had a medical issue and crashed his SUV into five feet of water near Pueblo City Park's golf course, nearby golfers jumped into action to help.
The Pueblo Police Department shared a picture of the SUV nearly covered by the water in Bessemer ditch Wednesday afternoon.
According to PPD, the driver had a medical issue when he was driving, and he drove through a fence from the zoo parking lot, continued across the golf course, and then landed in the ditch.
Police say several bystanders saw him coming, and the golfers jumped in the water to get him out of the car. The driver was taken to a hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
