Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast – Warmer – 6/4/2022

Overview:  We're tracking a warmer weekend with some brief showers.

Today:  Mostly sunny this morning, then partly cloudy, breezy at times, and warmer this afternoon with high temperatures in the 80s to near 90 for the plains, mainly 70s to near 80 for the mountains and high mountain valleys. Isolated, generally brief, and weak showers may develop during the afternoon mainly over and near the mountains, but with less low-level moisture around we don't expect heavy rainfall or strong thunderstorms anywhere.

Tonight:  We expect a slight chance for a brief shower over and near the mountains this evening, then partly cloudy for the rest of the night. Low temperatures in the 40s and 50s for most areas, but the high mountain valleys will cool into the 30s again.

Sunday:  Partly cloudy and breezy at times with high temperatures in the 80s to lower 90s for the plains, mainly 70s to near 80 for the mountains and high mountain valleys. Scattered, generally weak showers are possible during the afternoon over and near the mountains, but isolated, strong thunderstorms could develop near the Kansas state line late.

Extended:  Slightly cooler on Monday with a better chance for showers and thunderstorms over mainly northern and eastern parts of our coverage area. The air will cool some Tuesday into Wednesday and scattered showers and thunderstorms will remain possible. Thursday looks warmer again. We will be tracking the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms over various parts of our coverage area at times through the week.
