Tonight:  Scattered showers and thunderstorms over and near the mountains may drift southeastward with the cold front, but we expect they'll weaken and generally end by late this evening. Partly cloudy with low temperatures in the 60s for most areas on the plains, but the high mountain valleys and mountain communities will cool into the 40s and 50s.

Tomorrow: Monday will be breezy and noticeably cooler with high temperatures falling into the 80s to lower 90s for the plains, 70s for the mountains.

Extended: Low-level moisture behind the cold front may support scattered stronger thunderstorms over more of the area early this week, but the plume of moisture associated with the summer monsoon looks to settle primarily over the mountains with chances for storms over the plains decreasing as the cooler air and low-level moisture begin to wash away from the mountains. This time of year a lesser number of storms generally means warming temperatures, and after a brief break from the hottest air Monday & Tuesday we do expect the air to heat up again for the rest of the week.
