Hazy skies linger over Southern Colorado as temperatures crank up through the weekend

Tonight we will see partly cloudy skies with areas of patchy smoke here in Southern Colorado. We do expect clearing conditions as we head into the late evening and overnight hours. We will have winds out of the east at around 5 to 10 mph. Expect overnight lows in the lower 60s. We do have and Air Quality alert through 10 P.M. tonight.

Friday will bring us mostly sunny skies and much warmer temperatures. We will see highs in the mid 90s here in the Pikes Peak Region, with hazy conditions once again. Temperatures will approach 100 degrees on the Eastern Plains. We will have a Red Flag Warning from 1 P.M. through 8 P.M. on Friday for parts of Pueblo and Fremont Counties.

The hot and dry conditions will continue on Saturday and Sunday with highs in the upper 90s for most communities along the I-25 Corridor, and triple digits heat out on the Eastern Plains. We will have to watch for Fire Weather, and the possibility of Red Flag Warnings throughout the weekend.

The heat sticks around for Monday, with highs in the upper 90s along with partly cloudy skies.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives on Tuesday and Wednesday, along with cooler temperatures. We will see high in the upper 80s.
