Fog, followed by fire danger expected in southern Colorado
TODAY: A dense fog advisory is in place for El Paso County through 9am this morning. Visibility will be 1/4 mile or less at times before we get into some late morning clearing. We should be seeing sunshine by the time noon arrives, with gusty winds picking up south of Highway 50. Red Flag Warnings are out from the San Luis Valley through Baca County until 8pm today. Please practice fire prevention today! Highs will be much warmer and will be reaching the 60s and 70s south Southern Colorado. A stray shower or thundershower is possible between 3 - 6pm this evening.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with lows in the 30s over the mountains. Lower elevations drop to the 40s tonight.
EXTENDED: We will be dry and warm tomorrow and fire weather will be a concern once again. Fire Weather Watches are out from Teller County and places east for the daytime. These could be upgraded to red flag warnings at any time in the next 24 hours. Highs warm to the 70s and 80s through the midweek under sunshine, with any isolated storm chances staying contained to higher terrain. Our next best chance for more widespread showers and storms will be returning on Friday.
