Cool and quiet Christmas Eve for most of Southern Colorado (KRDO)

TODAY: Partly cloudy to partly sunny skies can be expected for your Christmas Eve! Skies stay dry most of the day with afternoon temperatures warming to the 40s and 50s (a little cooler than yesterday). Snow develops over western and southwest Colorado around 3pm today and will only get heavier through the evening. If you are heading that way to see family, keep that in mind! Skies stay dry locally by a stray sprinkle or flurry is possible west of I-25 and along Highway 50 between 8pm and midnight tonight.
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy. Overnight lows cool to the 20s and 30s.
EXTENDED: Windy and cool weather is expected on Christmas Day with highs warming to the 30s and 40s. Snow over the high country will be far less in coverage which will be good news for travelers heading to the mountains. Thursday will be dry and then we see increased chances for a winter storm Friday into Saturday. Highs over the weekend will only be warming to the 20s, 30s and low 40s.
