Evening thunderstorms and high heat

Today: A Heat Advisory is still in place until 9 pm for a majority of the south east. Colorado Springs is on track to break the daily high temperature of 97 degrees set back in 1960 by one degree as our projected high temperature is 98 degrees. Pueblo will likely break their daily high temperature record of 103 degrees set in 1960 with a high temperature of 105 degrees today.

Evening thunderstorms are still passing though however the time frame for showers in Colorado Springs begins around 6 pm. The showers linger through the overnight hours with the Aspen Acres burn scar area likely getting light rain from 7-10 pm.

Tomorrow: The heavier and more severe thunderstorms are set for Tuesday evening. Thunderstorms develop over El Paso County around 3 pm and bring heavy rainfall across the I-25 corridor until 10 pm. After 10 pm the strong line of thunderstorms takes over the eastern plains, bring severe weather.

High temperatures will still be hot and in the 90s but no longer rivaling daily records. Colorado Springs will reach the low 90s with Pueblo in the mid-90s.
