More heat today and Monday, rain increasing this week

TODAY: Hot and dry! We'll see temps top out in the 80s in Teller County, 90s across the rest of the Pikes Peak Region. Mid to upper 90s can be expected along the HWY 50 corridor. We may get more afternoon clouds, like Saturday, but most should stay dry once again. Best chance for a stray shower will be in the mountains.

MONDAY: Even hotter! Upper 90s possible in the Pikes Peak Region, with temps at and above 100 along HWY 50. We look to remain dry... thankfully this very hot weather is limited as we start a cooldown on Tuesday.

THIS WEEK: A cold front will roll through late Monday night into Tuesday. Temps should cool off at least 5-10 degrees for most for Tuesday afternoon. Showers and storms will increase in the mountains Tuesday afternoon and evening, with a few isolated storms possible in the Pikes Peak Region as well. Monsoon storms look to increase in coverage going into Wednesday, through this upcoming weekend. These won't be all-day rain storms, but afternoon and evening soaking rains are possible for many. Just a bit more patience needed for some meaningful rainfall, especially along and east of I-25.
