Marty’s Tuesday Evening Forecast – Overnight Storms For The Plains – 6/7/2022

KRDO

Overview:  We're tracking overnight thunderstorms for the far eastern plains.

Tonight:  A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the southeastern plains of Colorado until 4:00 AM. Thunderstorms during the night may continue to produce large hail, damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Along the I-25 corrido we’ll get breezy at times as a cold front moves southward across the area. Low clouds and patchy fog are likely by morning over much of eastern Colorado. We expect temperatures to fall into the 50s for the plains, 40s for the mountains and high mountain valleys.

Tomorrow:  Early low clouds will decrease leading to a partly cloudy afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are most likely over and near the mountains to the south and southwest of Pueblo, but a brief shower could also develop over the Pikes Peak Region. The good news is that the threat for severe weather is much less area wide. We’ll be cooler with temperatures in the 60s and 70s for much of the day for many areas, but the high mountain valleys will likely reach the 80s.

Extended:  We expect much warmer air starting Thursday with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected into Saturday. While severe weather isn’t as likely over the next several days, we cannot rule out isolated severe weather over the far eastern plains. Sunday & Monday look hot, mostly dry, and breezy.
