Very Windy Sunday Forecast

KRDO

Tonight: Fire Weather Warnings in effect for the majority of central/southern Colorado till 9pm tonight as wind gusts are hitting 30mph combined with low relative humidity. Gradually turning calm with low temperatures down to 48 degrees in Colorado Springs and 50 degrees in Pueblo.

Sunday: Morning sunshine Fire Weather Warnings again beginning at 11AM for most Coloradoans. High temperatures to 78 degrees in Colorado Springs and 84 in Pueblo. A cold front will drop through the state after 3pm, which will bring strong winds to the area. Expect gusts to 40mph along the I-25 corridor and up to 50mph gusts in wind prone areas. Travel could become difficult at times for light, high profile vehicles. Snow flurries are possible along I-70 in the high country, but overall this is a very dry system. Can't rule out an isolated rain shower along the Palmer Divide but expect the vast majority of areas along and east of the I-25 corridor to stay dry.

Extended: High temperatures will be closer to seasonal to start next week, only into the low 70s in Colorado Springs with plenty of daily sunshine. Expect another very dry week ahead with periods of light to moderate haze. Something else to note, the last time Colorado Springs had measurable precipitation was September 21st, which is nearly 3 weeks ago.
