RECORD-BREAKING HEAT THEN SNOW? WAIT….. WHAT?
TONIGHT: Clear skies and mild temps if you have any outdoor plans for Friday evening. Clear skies and mild overnight with morning lows Saturday in the upper-50s and low-60s across southern Colorado.
WEEKEND/LABOR DAY: Continued hot weather for Saturday and Sunday as highs top out in the upper-90s and low-100s both days. Slightly milder for Labor Day on Monday before an aggressive cold front plows into southern Colorado dropping our temperatures into the 40s and 50s on Tuesday. Along with the colder temperatures comes a healthy shot of precipitation in the form of rain and snow.
TUESDAY: A significant temperatures drop is likely on Tuesday as a powerful surge of cold air ushers in yielding wind chills readings around freezing. Rain and snow will also be likely through Tuesday after the cold front passes. As of now, there is still quite a bit of uncertainty on snow amounts but, in the interim, higher terrain areas (Palmer divide, Sangres, local mtn cities) should prepare for snow Tuesday and hazardous road conditions after sunset Tuesday night as temps plummet at or below freezing.
