Warming trend with weekend rain chances

Tonight: Gradually turning mostly clear overnight with light winds and no chance for precipitation. Temperatures dropping to 47 degrees in Colorado Springs and 52 in Pueblo.

Thursday: Just a gorgeous day on tap. Plenty of sunshine during the morning hours helping temperatures push into the low 80s in Colorado Springs and closer to 90 for HWY 50 locations. Increasing clouds during the afternoon but little to no chance of precipitation is expected. Afternoon wind gusts staying below 20mph

Extended: A ridge of high pressure has settled in across the entire western half of the United States. That, in turn, will continue the warming trend with temperatures reaching into the high 80s and low 90s in central/southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms could develop on Friday and Saturday with the coverage of the precipitation being greater over the higher elevations.
