Heavy snow likely this weekend

STORMWARNING

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies with lows in the 20s and 30s. High country snow redevelops through midnight. Some of these snow showers will stream into Teller County through sunrise tomorrow morning.

WEEKEND: Off and on snow showers are likely for higher elevation areas on Saturday, mixing with a bit of rain through Pueblo and the eastern plains. The best chance for some of that moisture will be from sunrise through noon, and then again in the evening. Heavy snow moves in overnight Saturday into Sunday and will continue through Sunday afternoon. This will make for slick driving along I-25 and through the foothills and mountains during the daytime. Accumulation also looks likely. Right now it looks like 3-6” will be possible for Colorado Springs, with higher totals in the mountains. We cool down significantly through the weekend, so only expect highs to warm to the 20s and 30s. Overnight lows through Tuesday morning will be in the teens and single digits. We will keep you updated on any changes!
