Thunderstorm Chances Through the Weekend

TODAY: Expect highs in the low 80s in Colorado Springs and mid-to-high 80s in Pueblo, with scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms bringing gusty winds. Colorado Springs will be mostly dry, with heavy cloud cover. Small scattered showers could quickly move through until about 9 pm.

SATURDAY: High temperatures will be similar to Friday, with Colorado Springs mostly peaking in the low-80s. Pueblo will have another day of mid-to-high-80s and above-average temperatures. A cooling trend is on the way for the back half of the weekend and into next week. Saturday evening brings small and scattered showers and thunderstorms across the high-country region, with a few of them spilling over into I-25. The timing to get a shower in Colorado Springs is 1-5 pm.

SUNDAY: High temperatures finally drop down into the 70s for most areas. The southeastern plains will likely be in the 80s. The high-country areas stay mostly dry, making Sunday the best weekend day to check out mountain Fall foliage. Eastern El Paso County, along with the southeastern plains, will begin to see some pop-ups of thunderstorms mainly after 3 pm and through the overnight hours. These storms will potentially carry hail to La Junta and Lamar.
