Sizzling Summer Heat

Good afternoon!

It has been another hot summer day across southern Colorado with even more heat on the way! Normally for this time of the year we should see high temperatures in the mid-80s. High temperatures today have climbed into the upper 80s here in Colorado Springs with even hotter temperatures towards the south in areas around Pueblo. 

As we continue throughout the afternoon and evening hours we may see a stray shower or thunderstorms for our viewers to the south but it looks to be dry here in Colorado Springs. 

As we head into Sunday and Monday that is when the real heat settles in. We will see high temperatures in Colorado Springs in the mid 90s with those of you in Pueblo in the lower 100s. 

We do have a few HEAT ADVISORIES that will be in effect for portions of the viewing area for the next few days:

Sunday- Noon to 8:00 PM

Monday- 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Certainly stay cool during those periods, drink plenty of water, and lather on the sunscreen. Furthermore, hold off on any outdoor activities during those times and be sure to check on your pets and the elderly. The heat looks to stick around until Tuesday which will also be our next real shot at some meaningful precipitation.
