Mountain thunderstorms and hot temperatures

Today: Highs in the 90s and not budging. Conditions will continue to be hot for the rest of the weekend and heading into the workweek. Mountain thunderstorms are still bubbling up and heading south. Around 7:00-8:00 p.m., a small thunderstorm is possible in the Aspen Acres Fire. The burn scar area is no longer under any flash flood watches or warnings. More thunderstorms affect the southern Sangre De Cristos after 8 pm. A storm is likely around 9 pm across Douglas County. This storm is traveling south and is likely to drop into Teller and El Paso County by 10 pm.

Tomorrow: The haze has mostly cleared out, except for the locations that are right near the fire perimeters. However, there is a chance that more land will burn on the western side of the Aspen Acres Fire because of the hot and dry conditions. If this happens, then it is likely that more smoke will be produced and mainly affect the high country, including Saguache and Salida.
