Elevated Flash Flooding Potential Next Few Days

Rest of Today: Slow-moving showers and storms will be likely through 10pm tonight. These storms are likely to put down heavy rain in a short period of time. The Weather Prediction Center has put some areas (depicted in yellow) at a level 2 of 4 on the risk for flash flooding. This means conditions are favorable for flash flooding to occur, but it's not a certainty. People in the affected area should be aware of the potential and take necessary precautions

TONIGHT: Storms dissipate no later than 10pm-midnight for most areas. Overnight lows will fall into the 50's and 60's under partly clear skies before sunrise Wednesday morning

TOMORROW: Rinse and repeat forecast for Wednesday with partly cloudy skies for the first part of the day and highs in the 80's and 90's ahead of showers and storms between 1-8pm with a risk for isolated flash flooding and rapid-runoff of rain for higher terrain areas.

EXTENDED: Daily storms remain in the forecast through Friday with drier periods through the afternoon possible by the weekend.
