WEATHER ALERT: SNOW CONTINUES OVERNIGHT

Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for HWY 50 from Fremont to Prowers County, and I-25 south of Pueblo to begin at 2 pm this afternoon and run through the overnight hours. Snow bands of moderate-intensity will stream out of the higher elevations during the evening commute for Pueblo/Canon City/Walsenburg residents. If you find yourself in one of these snow bands expect limited visibility and snow quickly accumulating onto the roadways. Total snow accumulations for HWY 50 and south of Pueblo through Thursday morning is 3-6", with some areas close to the Wet/Sangre De Cristo ranges receiving up to 9".

TONIGHT: Cloudy and cold with lighter accum of snow. Downsloping flow off the Palmer Divide will keep snowfall totals to a minimal, less than 2" overnight in the downtown area. Classically, northern El Paso County could see slightly more accumulation, 2-4" by Thursday morning in Monument and along the NE stretch of HWY 24.

THURSDAY: Snow-covered and slick roads likely for the morning commute in central/southern Colorado. Decreasing clouds by the afternoon with temperatures remaining on the chilly side, high 20s in Colorado Springs and 30s in Pueblo.

EXTENDED: Nice little warming trend to finish off the week, back into the high 40s and 50s in Colorado Springs and along the I-25 corridor with plenty of sunshine Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, more snow chances late Saturday.
