Winter Weather Advisories/Warnings

A strong cold front crossed through central Colorado early this morning and is bringing winter weather back to the state after a record-breakingly warm weekend.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the entirety of the I-25 corridor, from Wyoming to New Mexico from 2 pm today till 5pm Tuesday. Precipitation will begin in northern Colorado and quickly spread through Colorado Springs and towards HWY 50. This evening's commute will be especially challenging for those traveling through northern El Paso and Douglas Counties. Potentially heavy snow with wind gusts to 35mph could make travel very difficult. Limited visibilities and snow-covered roads are likely.

Snowfall totals will be higher above 7000ft. Approximately 3-7" in Monument and Woodland Park. Colorado Springs should stay closer to 2-4", similar in Pueblo. Gradually the heavy snow bands will lessen in intensity to a light flurry for the morning and early afternoon Tuesday. With mostly sunny skies and a warming trend mid-week.
