16-inch water main break shuts down roads on west side of Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The intersection of Centennial Boulevard and 30th Street is currently blocked off due to a water main break, according to Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU)

CSU says that the area will be temporarily open tonight but, will close at 7 a.m. on Dec. 12 so that the road can be repaired. They expect the closure to last most of the day.

CSU identified a 16-inch water main break and is investigating the cause. However, they say that breaks are more common this time of year due to the rapid change in temperatures.
