Cool and wet weather ahead along with a high fire danger and severe storms on the Eastern Plains

Tonight we will see partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. We could once again see some severe thunderstorms out on the Eastern Plains. It will be on the breezy side, with winds out of the north at 10 to 15 mph. Overnight lows will fall into the mid 50s for most areas along the I-25 Corridor.

Monday will bring us cooler weather along with a better chance of showers and storms in the afternoon and evening hours. It will be another breezy afternoon with winds out of the southeast at around 15 to 20 mph. We do have a chance for severe thunderstorms out on the Eastern Plains. The biggest threat with those storms will be large hail and an isolated tornado. Highs will climb into the mid-80s.

The chance for showers and thunderstorms will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 80s for most areas in the Pikes Peak Region.

We will see showers and storm chances as we head into Thursday and Friday, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Drier conditions and warmer temperatures move in for the upcoming weekend, with highs in the lower 90s.
