New traffic safety project completed at a south Pueblo intersection
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Officials have announced the completion of a project that will benefit drivers and pedestrians.
Four new traffic signals go online Monday, March 4, at the Prairie Avenue and O'Neal Avenue intersection.
It may not sound like much, but it's important for the people in the Beulah Heights and Lake Minnequa neighborhoods; the new traffic signals replaced a mid-block pedestrian crossing signal, which was just south of O’Neal Ave.
Concrete improvements and paving on Prairie Avenue also were part of this project; the signals will flash red and yellow at the intersection and begin normal operation next week.
This is the first time Pueblo has been covered by The Road Warrior since coverage started four weeks ago, and the Friday reports on Good Morning Colorado quickly resulted in three emails from viewers within an hour.
During its opening month, The Road Warrior received nearly 70 emails from southern Colorado viewers expressing concern or asking questions about road and street issues, traffic and pedestrian safety and other related matters.
Roughly a third of the emails relate to paving; 11 complain about the lack of pothole repairs.
