Harassment investigation leads police to fentanyl, meth inside Colorado Springs home

MGN

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police say a harassment investigation led to officers discovering fentanyl and meth inside a home in Colorado Springs.

Wednesday, officers responded to a harassment call for service on Hatch Circle just after 3:50 p.m.

According to the police, officers found that the individuals involved with the harassment allegations had unrelated outstanding warrants.

Police said officers received consent from the owner to search the common areas inside the home. During the search, police said officers found fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Later that day, police said officers obtained a warrant to search the entire home, including a locked basement bedroom. Police say two people surrendered after they announced the search warrant and warned a K9 unit was on the scene.

Police say they arrested Crystal Whitman, 40. Jail records show she was booked into the El Paso County jail on four misdemeanor charges, including two warrants out of Teller and Boulder counties.

The other person who was arrested at home does not appear to be facing drug charges, according to court records reviewed by KRDO.

Police arrested Laffarin Darensbourg, 37, on an unrelated warrant issued in April for vehicular eluding.
