Power restored after wind causes outage in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Strong winds caused power outages, broken poles, and additional damage in northwest El Paso and Douglas Counties on Sunday morning, according to 9NEWS.

Around 8 a.m., CORE Electric Cooperative first tweeted about high winds causing extensive damage across their service region.

Two hours later, the utility company reported that more than 600 members were without power in east Douglas County and northwest El Paso County. According to the tweet, crews are working to repair broken poles.

At 1 p.m., more than 600 CORE members remained without power, said the tweet and CORE outage map located on the CORE website.

Anyone who is still without power is asked to report the outage online.
