Water main break impacts dormitory, kitchen at Pueblo County Jail

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The dormitory and kitchen area of the Pueblo County Jail is temporarily without service due to a water main break.
Tuesday, Pueblo Water personnel were notified by the Pueblo County facilities staff about a line break in a four-inch underground main, at 5:15 p.m.
The Pueblo County Jail placed measures to provide bathroom facilities and drinking water to nearly 250 inmates and many employees until the line gets repaired.
An emergency plan was implemented by the jail's kitchen staff. Uninterrupted meal services to the inmates will continue during the repair.
“Although this break has affected water service to a portion of the facility, we are continuing to meet the needs and maintaining the health and safety of the inmates and our employees,” said Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor.
Wednesday, contractors started repairing the break.
The cause to the water main break is unknown at this time.
