Two suspects arrested in string of Colorado Springs bank robberies

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Two suspects were taken into custody in connection to multiple bank robberies.

Between June 14 and 21, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Robbery Unit investigated multiple bank robberies involving the same subject. According to police, the robberies happened in the 00 hundred block of North Cascade Ave., the 6000 block of Stetson Hills Blvd., and the 5400 block of N. Academy Blvd.

Police described the suspect as a white male wearing a wig and/or eyeglasses.

Eventually, detectives identified 45-year-old Michael Nutz as the suspect in all three robberies.

On Thursday, June 23, Robbery Unit detectives found Nutz and coordinated his arrest with the CSPD Tactical Enforcement Unit.

According to police, he was contacted inside a vehicle near the 2700 block of East Las Vegas St. and was taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with two counts of robbery, with an additional count forthcoming.

According to police, 32-year-old Stephanie Tullis was found inside the vehicle and after being interviewed she was arrested for two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery.
