Voters urged to return ballot early ahead of Primary Election Day

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Ahead of Primary Election Day, voters are urged to return their ballot in early.

The Clerk and Recorder's Office strongly recommends voters to return their ballot at one of the 39 ballot drop-off locations.

As for unaffiliated voters, a reminder you can vote and return only one ballot.

“In 2016, voters approved Proposition 108. That change in Colorado law permits Unaffiliated voters to vote in Primary elections. While Unaffiliated voters receive both parties’ ballots, it is only permissible for them to vote and return either the Democratic or Republican ballot, not both,” said Clerk and Recorder Chuck Broerman. “We are fortunate in Colorado to vote by mail ballot where voters receive their ballot in advance of Election Day, have time to learn about candidates, make an informed decision, vote and return their ballot early.”

Tuesday, five Voter Service and Polling Centers (VSPC) are open. An additional four VSPCs will be available by Monday, June 27.

By Election Day on Tuesday June 28, there will be a total of nine locations throughout El Paso County.
