Potential flash flooding closes gates across Siferd Rd. and Date St.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) closed gates at Siferd Road at Date St. due to potential flash flooding.

The department initially closed the gates Monday, just before 3 p.m.

CSFD warned drivers that rain could come from miles on the northeast side of Colorado Springs. Officials also said heavy rain might not always be immediately obvious to drivers.

The gates are still closed as of Tuesday.
