Governor Polis issues statement on passage of Bipartisan Federal Infrastructure Bill

KRDO

COLORADO (KRDO) -- Today, Governor Jared Polis released a statement following reports that the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act with bipartisan support, sending it to President Biden’s desk for signature.

“Let’s fix the roads and reduce traffic! This is a win for our country and a win for Colorado! I’m thrilled that Congress has passed with bipartisan support this once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve our roads, create new jobs, improve our drinking water, and tackle climate change,” said Governor Polis. “Paired with our state’s historic bipartisan infrastructure plan that I signed this summer, Colorado will see a transformation across all four corners of our state to make our roads safer and better for all Coloradans. Thank you, President Biden and Congress for your bipartisan work to bring real change across our country’s entire infrastructure system.”

Governor Polis was one of the first governors in the country to support this federal infrastructure framework.

The passage of this federal infrastructure legislation follows Colorado’s historic, bipartisan transportation package Governor Polis signed into law this year. According to a press release from the state, it "will create a dynamic, 21st Century transportation system that will drive Colorado’s economic comeback, establish a sustainable funding source to improve Colorado roads, invest in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and expand multi-modal and transit options to reduce congestion and improve air quality."

  1. See I would have thought polis would have got down on his knees to thank Saint dementia that’s how he normally thanks guys.

  2. They should be pushing more hybrids until the electric range and cold weather issues are resolved with electric cars. 28 mile electric range won’t cut it for most people, less in cold weather. I’ve never seen a car charging at the local walmart.

  3. Polis with his millions of dollars, pays 8% tax while a guy making 45k a year pays 19%. Polis harped for Trump to show his tax papers and yet Polis wont show his own. Trump paid over 25% and millions in taxes but Polis didnt for years pay? Polis is destroying our state.

      1. You missed the point, Polis ran his mouth about Trump not showing his tax returns. All along Polis was using the same tax loopholes as Trump. No surprise, more Democrat’s hypocrisy.

      2. Remember when Polis came out and said all the wealthy need to pay their fair share and should be paying higher taxes because it is the right hing to do. Yet……Polis being a multi millionaire paid zero income tax for 5 years in a row. If he was so adamant about millionaires paying their fair share….. why didn’t he pay his fair share? The ole “Do as I say not as I do”.
