Man in custody after threatening to shoot Colorado Springs police

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Sunday morning, at around 2:00 a.m., officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department were called to a domestic disturbance. It happened at a home near South Academy and Hancock Expressway on the south side of Colorado Springs.

A woman had called 911, saying that a drunk man, Felix Federico, came to her home and grabbed their shared child, refusing to return the kids to the mother.

Upon arrival, Federico said he had a gun and was threatening to shoot police officers. CSPD adds, "When officers arrived on the scene, the male set the child down, ran at officers while yelling to shoot him."

After a brief scuffle, 22-year-old Federico was arrested and taken into custody.
