Fire breaks out at Johnny’s Navajo Hogan in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs firefighters were called to Johnny's Navajo Hogan Tuesday afternoon for a large fire that engulfed the side of a building near the restaurant.

The fire shot flames out the side of the building and up to the roof, and CSFD posted pictures and a video online. CSFD officials told KRDO later Tuesday that the blaze originated from a homeless person's warming fire.

It's the second fire at the historic bar so far this year. CSFD was called to the building in January for a reported basement fire. No one was injured in that fire.

According to the Colorado Springs traffic monitor, northbound N. Nevada Ave. was blocked and only one lane of southbound Nevada Ave. was open because of the fire.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
