KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- More than a month after a 33-year-old woman was found dead on Old Pueblo Road, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office says a suspect has been arrested and charged with murder.

EPCSO announced on Friday that an arrest had been made in Alison Cantrell's suspected killing. According to authorities, detectives were able to track the suspect down and find him in Grayson County, Texas.

According to EPCSO, the suspect has been identified as Joseph Hunnicutt, 41. Hunnicutt apparently has aliases of Justin Bailey and Joseph Sullivan, according to authorities.

Hunnicutt was arrested on Thursday and is being held in the Collin County Jail in McKinney, Texas.

According to Colorado Court records, a murder charge has been filed against Hunnicutt under the name Justin Randall Bailey. The killing is alleged to have happened on March 13, according to CoCourts records.

Jail records from Collin County in Texas show that Cantrell and Hunnicutt/Bailey have a daughter together, and a Facebook post indicates that the pair were married at one time.

Cantrell was last seen on surveillance video at a local convenience store just before her body was found on March 15.

We're working on getting more information about how investigators identified Hunnicutt as a suspect.
