Gov. Polis: All Coloradans expected to be eligible for COVID-19 vaccine by mid-April
DENVER (KRDO) -- Colorado Gov. Jared Polis says he expects that all Coloradans over the age of 18 to be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine by mid-April.
The announcement came Friday as Polis also moved up the date of Phase 1B.4 to March 19. That phase includes restaurant workers and many other professions, expanding the eligible list to millions.

The reason why this timeline has been pushed forward is because Colorado is expected to get 3.4 million doses of the vaccine over the next ten weeks. Polis says because the state is getting so much more they have to ramp up clinics to be able to keep up with supply. "Frankly, it's the best problem to have," Polis says. "As the quantities go up the normal regular way we do vaccines is no longer enough."
To increase shots in the arms of Coloradans, Polis says that starting next week, six mass vaccination clinics in Colorado will be able to give 6,000 vaccines a day. Two of those clinics will be at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs and the state fairgrounds in Pueblo.
