Gov. Polis activates Colorado National Guard ahead of winter storm
DENVER (KRDO) -- Ahead of a winter storm that's expected to drop anywhere from a few inches to a few feet of snow in various parts of Colorado, Gov. Jared Polis said he's activating the Colorado National Guard.
The governor gave an update Thursday on how the state is preparing. Watch below:
Polis says the Co. National Guard will be activated starting at noon Friday until noon Monday to help with search and rescue requests due to the upcoming winter storm.
However, Polis prefers you stay off the roads, saying, "I urge you to stay home if it's going to snow hard in your area so you don't need them to come rescue you."
